Beading Group

The Beading Group consists of a group of volunteers. As many of them only met up on rare occasions, they decided to gather one morning a week and use their beading skills to support the Gallery.

Bead Weaving is the ancient art of weaving tiny seed beads into intricate patterns to create jewellery and other decorative items. Beads have been found by archaeologists in every part of the world and can be traced back as far as 40,000 years ago. These days most of our beads come from Japan, Czechoslovakia and various other places.

The patterns that we use come from many different countries and traditions such as Native American Indian, Japan, China and Russia to name a few.
