FAMILY EMBROIDERY FUN - FREE DROP IN SESSION

SUNDAY 11 AUGUST - 11:00am to 2:00pm

Free admission. No booking required.

Explore the world of embroidery with your child by learning some basic stitches.

Families are invited to join us at the "Hidden Histories of Women" Exhibition for special drop-in embroidery sessions for children aged 7 to 11, to learn about embroidery with a hands-on embroidery workshop.

The children will be guided through the process of threading a needle and learning how to embroider a number of stitches. By the end of the session they will have embroidered a small fabric square which they can take home and enjoy. For any younger children present, a colouring activity will be available.

All children must be supervised by a parent/guardian.

KATHERINE SAVAGE

Katherine from Treasure Kave Embroidery started her stitching journey age 7 on the Isle of Wight with her grandmother. It quickly went from a hobby to a lifelong passion, and she went on to study at London College of Fashion and perused a career in fashion. Following the arrival of her daughters, she found herself drawn back to embroidery and has organically grown her business. Today stitching daily and teaching others really is a dream come true. In recent years, she has started to exhibit at national events such as the Knitting & Stitching Show and can occasionally be found on Sewing Street TV demonstrating embroidery. She has been teaching children embroidery classes in SW London for many years now and, is passionate about getting youngsters into the beautiful craft.
