Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra KG GCVO visits

The Sunbury Millennium Embroidery Gallery

Wednesday 30th January 2019

On Wednesday 30th January 2019, The Sunbury Embroidery Gallery welcomed HRH Princess Alexandra who visited the Gallery & Café in Sunbury's Walled Garden for the first time.

The afternoon visit to view the Sunbury Millennium Embroidery and to talk to many of our volunteers was attended by 145 guests many of whom have been involved with the project since its inception back in 1995.

With the support of our core and dedicated team of over 45 volunteers, the Gallery & Café is open 300 days a year and receives 45,000 visitors annually.

Since opening in the summer of 2006 we have welcomed over 500,000 visitors, staged over 110 exhibitions featuring the work of 300 artists, run over 200 workshops and developed a community outreach programme involving local schools for children with special needs.
